Os objectivos desta banda desenhada são:

.Abordar o tema da ditadura do Estado Novo mais profundamente, atendendo às situações sociais, políticas e económicas da época.

.Contar uma versão diferente daquela escrita pelos vencedores usando todos os factos históricos possíveis.

.Ensinar às pessoas um pouco mais sobre a História recente de Portugal e como usar melhor a democracia.

Todas as personagens foram criadas por Filipe José Figueiredo Soares,por favor não roubar este trabalho, se alguém quiser usar as personagens têm de me contactar primeiro e pedir autorização.

Viriato é uma espécie de exército de um só homem/espião que não está muito feliz com a democracia, com os recentes e actuais líderes de Portugal. Ele protege o país de grandes ameaças e é o único herói de quem Portugal depende. Ele é muito hábil nas artes marciais do "jogo do pau", normalmente não usa armas e pode acabar com vários inimigos com as próprias mãos; paus ou baionetas.
A série vai seguir muitos aspectos de bandas desenhadas belgas famosas como TinTin, ou "As Aventuras de Blake & Mortimer ', como carros clássicos. Irão ver muitos carros clássicos, outras máquinas e estilos de meados do séc.XX.
Ele conduz um carro único, simplesmente referido como Edfor II (fav.me/d5c8r2q), mas às vezes também usa motas de produção nacional, como "FAMEL' ou 'Casal'. Ele é um amante de carros clássicos.

Viriato luta contra muitos vilões, a maioria deles são vilões políticos.

Viriato vai usar várias armas que foram usadas ou produzidas em Portugal:

Pistola Luger P08; Portugal usou ampolamente a Luger P08 e foi aplicada principalmente na Marinha.

Walter P38; Foi amplamente utilizada em Portugal a partir de 1961.

Espingarda Mauser Vergueiro (às vezes com mira telescópica ou baioneta), a espingarda foi criada em 1904 pelo oficial de infantaria Português José Alberto Vergueiro, a espingarda podia ombrear outras espingardas famosas da época como a Springfield 1903, Gewerh 98 e até a Mauser K98 de 1935.

Pistola-metrelhadora FBP m/948, o projecto para a pistola-metrelhadora começou em 1940, mas parou durante a 2ªGM e foi terminada em 1948. Criada pelo oficial de artilharia Gonçalves Cardoso, o resultado foi uma pistola-metrelhadora muito fiável que parecia um cruzamento entre a americana 'Grease Gun' e a MP40 alemã.

HK G3, a espingarda de assalto alemã foi amplamente utilizada pelo exército Português, mas tinha uma grande falha, o cano tendia a dobrar quando aquecido pelo fogo da arma, para impedir que isso acontecesse o Portugueses criaram uma liga metálica especial. Essa é a versão que Viriato usa.

MG42 e MG34.

PIAT, arma anti-tanque britânica. Viriato às vezes também irá usar um Panzerschreck ou um Panzerfaust, simplesmente porque eles são melhores armas anti-tanque do que o PIAT.

Bio: Viriato Esteves de Oliveira nasceu numa pequena aldeia perto do Vimieiro, no districto de Viseu, Portugal. Ele é o mais novo da família, com oito irmãs. Ele mostrou ser um menino muito tímido, sempre colado à sua adorável mãe. Sempre que a aldeia tinha reuniões na igreja, o padre metia os filhos dos moradores a ver desenhos animados antigos com uma câmara velha a projectar as imagens para uma tela como num cinema. Isso fez com que crescesse em Viriato um amor por desenhos animados, mas ele não aprecia os desenhos animados mais modernos. Chega a ponto nas suas missões em que derrota os seus inimigos de uma forma 'animada'.
À medida que crescia, ele tornava-se mais bonito, começou treinar a arte de luta do "jogo do pau" com o avô e ajudar pai na quinta. No início da sua adolescência Viriato e sua família mudaram-se para Coimbra devido a razões financeiras, onde permaneceram por um curto período de tempo, em seguida, mudaram-se para Lisboa. Mas durante as férias escolares ía visitar a aldeia, onde ainda praticava "jogo do pau" com o avô durante a sua estadia.
Viriato acaba o 12º ano de escolaridade com notas altas, ele queria ir para universidade tirar um curso de Direito, mas a sua família não tinha dinheiro suficiente para apoiá-lo. Ainda assim, conseguiu estudar um pouco em casa,era um jovem muito intelectual e muito letrado. Foi mais ou menos nessa altura que ele começou a ficar insatisfeito com o regime democrático que Portugal tinha desde 1974 e com os seus líderes; ele começou a procurar cuidadosamente uma ideologia política para seguir. No final, ele decidiu apoiar o regime de Salazar e o Estado Novo; mas primeiro estudou o ideal comunista e como seus seguidores eram, o que fez com que não gostasse do comunismo. Mais tarde entrou no ramo militar para tirar um curso de engenheiro, depois de terminar o curso, continuou no exército, onde foi enviado para Macau pela NATO e aprendeu artes marciais chinesas, mais tarde foi enviado para uma zona de guerra na Guiné-Bissau. Ele e o seu pelotão foram rodeados por gerrilheiros na sua base, Viriato sozinho reprimiu o ataque com uma velha MG42 e quando estava sem munições; derrotou o resto dos inimigos com as próprias mãos.
Durante o serviço militar, sempre que ele pudesse voltar a Portugal, visitava sempre a sua aldeia natal.
A Organização Salazar ouviu falar sobre Viriato e da sua luta na Guiné-Bissau, ficaram impressionados com as suas acções, resultados e era Salazarista. Chamaram-no, onde ele prometeu deixar a sua vida para proteger a Pátria de todos os perigos.

Viriato não fuma nem bebe álcool;

A sua bebida favorita é o Sumol por ser de produção nacional;

Ele mostra ter bons conhecimentos sobre política;

Como mencionado antes, ele adora carros clássicos e trata Edfor II como se fosse a sua namorada;

Ele tem um bom sentido de justiça;

Nos meios de comunicação e pelos comunistas ele é retratado como um terrorista fascista; um vilão nazi ;e por vezes, como um super-vilão que está disposto a destruir a democracia de Portugal e do mundo. Viriato leva todas essas declarações como insultos.

The objectives of this comic are:

. Addressing the theme of the Estado Novo dictatorship deeper, considering the situation of social, political and economic of the time.

. Telling a different version of that written by the winners using all possible historical facts.

. Teach people a little more about the recent history of Portugal and how to use democracy better.

Viriato is a one-man-army commando/spy like agent, who is not very happy with democracy, with the recent and corrent leaders of Portugal. He protects the country from major threats and is the only hero Portugal relies on. He is very skilled in the Portuguese 'stick game' martial arts, he normaly doesnt use weapons and can take out several enemies whith his bare hands, sticks, or bayonets.
The series will follow many aspects of famous Belgian comic books like TinTin, or 'Adventures of Blake & Mortimer', such as classic cars. You will see many classic cars, other mid 20th centry machines and styles.

He drives a unique car simply reffered as Edfor II (fav.me/d5c8r2q), but sometimes will also use motorcicles of national production such as 'FAMEL' or 'Casal'. He is a lover of classic cars.

He works for a secret organization called the António de Oliveira Salazar Organization (fav.me/d5c8rtv)

Viriato will use several weapons that were used or produced in Portugal:

Luger P08 handgun; Portugal applied this weapon mainly in the navy.

Walter P38; Was widely used by Portugal after 1961.

Mauser Vergueiro bolt action rifle (sometimes with sniper scope or bayonet); the rifle was created in 1904 by the Portuguese infantry officer José Alberto Vergueiro, the rifle could stand against other famous rifles of the time, Springfield 1903, Gewerh 98 and even the 1935 Mauser K98.

FBP m/948 submachinegun; the project for the submachinegun started in 1940 but was put to a hold during WW2 untill it was finished in 1948. Created by artillery major Gonçalves Cardoso, the result was a very reliable submachinegun that looked like a crossover between the american 'Grease Gun' and the german MP40.

HK G3; this german assault rifle was widely used by the Portuguese army, but had a major flaw, the barrel tended to bend when heated by the gun's fire, to prevent that from happening the Portuguese created a special metal alloy. That is the version Viriato is using.

MG42 and MG34.

PIAT British anti-tank weapon. Viriato will sometimes use a Panzerschreck or a Panzerfaust, simply because they are better AT weapons than the PIAT.

Bio: Viriato Esteves de Oliveira was born in a small village near Vimieiro, in the district of Viseu, Portugal. He is the youngest of his family, with eight sisters. He showed to be a very shy boy, allways glued to his lovely mother. Whenever the village had meetings at the church, the priest puted the villagers' children watching old cartoons with an old camera projecting the images to a screen like in a cinema. This made Viriato grow a love for cartoons, but he doesn't apreciate the more modern cartoons. At some point of his missions he will defeat his enemies in a toonish way.
As he grew older, he became more handsome, started to train 'stick game' martial arts with his grandfather and helped his father on the farm. In his early teens Viriato and his family moved to Coimbra due to financial reasons, where they stayed for a short period of time and then moved to Lisbon. But during his school holidays they whent to visit the village, Viriato would still practice 'stick game' fight whith his grandfather during his stay.
Viriato finished his 12th year of school with high grades, he wanted to go to colege to take a law course, but his family didn't had enough money to support him. Still, he manage to study a bit at home, he was a very intelectual and very literate young man. That was about the time he started to become unhappy with the democratic regime Portugal had since 1974 and it's leaders; he started to look very carefully for a polítical ideology to follow. In the end he decided to support Salazar's New State regime, but first studied the communist ideal and how it's followers were like and that made him dislike communism. Later he entered in the military branch to take an engeneer course, after finishing the course he stayed in the military, where he was deployed to Macau by NATO and learned chinese martial arts, later he was deployed to a war zone in Guinea Bissau. He and his platoon were sorrounded by gerrilla soldiers at their base, Viriato singlehandedly repressed the attack with an old MG42 and when was out of ammunition he took the rest of the enemies with his bare hands.
During his military service, whenever he could travel back to Portugal, he allways visited his home village.
The Salazar Organization heard about Viriato and his fight in Guinea Bissau; they were impressed whith his actions, scores and he was on the Salazar Organization's political side. They called him in, where he vowed to leave his life to protect the Homeland from all dangers.

Viriato does not smoke or drink alcohol;

His favourite drink is Sumol because its of national production;

He shows to have a good knowledge about politics;

As mentioned before, he loves classic cars and treats Edfor II like his girlfriend;

He has a good sence of justice;

In the media and by the communists he is portrayed as a fascist terrorist; a nazi villain and sometimes as a super villain that is willing to destroy democracy from Portugal and the world. Viriato takes all those statements as ugly insults.
